MG TD Update

Okay, so I couldn't wait. I was up at 3 am anyway so I went to get an early breakfast & was at the body shop when they opened. I had until noon to pick Jerri up at the airport (she'd gone to Paris instead of heading straight home with me - women!)

Its painted: 6 coats paint, 2 coats clear! Next week they'll buff each panel & after the 4th we'll start reassembly.

Its a biscuit leather...will have biscuit piping along fenders also....& have a new biscuit cloth top & side curtains.

Still have to paint the slats in the grille to match the interior....he was disassembling the grille today to do that.

Ron - his shop is amazing, isn't it...did you see the other cars he has in there for restorations right now? plus there's an MGA & an early Chevy truck!

That is also Miss Agathas home place for paint and such.

And, and she will go back this fall for some welding and more paint and clear coat.

Tony,

I have been considering moving my offices to a new facility. Although my business is not one that would lend itself well to a light industrial facility (I have an IT recruiting business), if I rent an office in a light industrial facility I could build offices in the front and have a workshop in the back for my cars...

Wait a minute, then I would always be in the shop instead of the office... Ahhhh, don't think that would work.. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nonono.gif

Sure it would - just put a buzzer on the door so that anytime someone came in, you'd know it back in the shop area!

Today when I went by, everything is clear coated.....only 1 rear fender has a little orange peel & they're redoing it today....we've decided we'll wait & buff the entire car after its assembled in the event we scratch anything.

Tomorrow, we start reassembly...firewall & gas tank/rear lighting is our goal....here are some photos:

Nope, just going over each piece by hand to ensure its perfect...Jack, this sucker is gonna pop (& it should for the price!)
