T-Series MG-TD Battery Trouble?

My 1950 MG-TD has had trouble with what I assume is the battery. The horns are super weak, the headlights are dimmer, andthe dashboard barely lights up. I've charged the battery, but its still no good. Is there something else I should check in case its not the battery? Thanks!
 
A battery is bad when it can't take and hold a charge. Are you sure you charged it completely? If so, and you still are seeing the same thing, it's likely the battery is bad. Best way is to charge it up completely and check it with a load tester.

Even so, it's not a bad idea to check the charging system. If it's not charging the battery well, it can get sulfated and then it's pretty much dead.
 
Check the condition of the battery plus and minus cable ends too. A corroded, loose or broken connection can cause poor current flow too. I once had the ground cable of a car break inside the battery end terminal and would sometimes work fine and others act almost dead.
 
If it worked not long ago, it might be as simple as a loose ground strap.
 
Thank for your replies. It turns out the battery was just at its end, so dad got a new one for it, all hooked up and everything. It is working wonderfully now!
