T-Series MG TC Leg Room ????

Hello! I currently have a MGTF and I am considering a MGTC but have never sat in a TC. My TF has about 41 inches form the clutch pedal to the lower back of the seat with the seat all the way back.

Can someone with a TC measure there car from the clutch pedal to the lower back of the seat so I can figure out if I can fit into a TC?

Thanks,

A TD should be the same. I can't measure mine right now but I'm 5'-10" and wear 32" pants. My knees are under the wheel and up against the shift knob. It's much tighter than I expected.

Roughly 40", give or take a few inches depending on how your seat back is constructed. Also keep in mind that the pedals in a TC come through the floor, so you cannot slide your foot underneath to stretch.

Curt - where'd ya find a TC around this part of the country?

Thanks for the info, looks like it is very close to the leg room of my TF, tight but it will work

Tony,
Unfortunately the car I found was not even close to being local. It is a California car from a small private collection that a friend turned me on to.

Now comes the painful part, shipping costs

If you send me the name of the collection it came from, chances are that I either know the car or someone who does.

Has anyone shortened the throttle pedal shaft? When I bought the thing as a 20 year old it did not seem to bother me, and all the ensuing years it was okay but I just had a 2 1/2 year restoration of the car and now when I drive it I am hard pressed to get out without an aching right knee. I am thinking about shortening the throttle pedal shaft to allow me a bit more leg room. The clutch and brake are fine.

Thanks,

JimG.

I'd suggest instead getting a length of 1/4" diameter, I believe that's correct, rod and bending up a new one. Then you have the original to include with the car if it's ever sold, passed on to an heir, or becomes important to have. With a small MAPP gas torch to heat the bends and a vise it's easy.
