This car is about 10 minutes from me and I have talked to the guy about it before he put it on eBay. He's kind of a wierd guy and he only took it to local shows, never showed interest in our british car club.

His wife drives a fully restored Sprite Mk IV but when he bought his 1500 he decided it didn't have enough power compared to the 1275 in his wifes car. So in when the HD and what you see now.

that looks hella cool, but he could have put a little more effort into the hood. when I first got my MG I had thought of putting a 1200cc suzuki motor in it, but figured that it would take far to many 1 off parts to get it done, I bet that thing shakes like its cool.

I originaly wanted to do it because, the midget is so small and light, and just the idea of having a sportbike engine in a car appealed to me, don't worry I saw the unsurmountable task, before I could ever get involved with it, so I changed my mind. once I get to working on the engine, I'm putting in a rover k series, and selling the original engine. its not that I don't like the car the way it is, but for me I would rather restore the car and then drive it, and spend as little effort as possible keeping it running. like I said I didn't want to get too many custom parts, cause in the event something does fail, the car could be down for a long time.

It is interesting. Would look a lot better with the exhaust under car.

Yea... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif If they put pipes on a bike, they ought to fit under the car somehow and not stain the sides of the car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

Don't the SCCA guys run motorcycle engines in the Spridgets? I seem to recall Tony Drum of Sports Car Salvage here in Charlotte saying that's what he runs in his Sprite. Not sure what the brand of engine though. The Legend cars run motorcycle engines as well.
