that part I knew . There was a brief attempt to define MG as Modern Gentleman. As I understand it, it didn't even fly in China.

and of course Jag is Tata - Indian. Or first night in Britain we stayed in an Estate which had been connected to managing the British steel industry during the Second World War. Now it is a Jag/Land Rover training centre - Also owned by Tata
