If any of BT's infrastructure is in "Glouster" it's FUBAR by now.
It's terrible. Tragic. Those folk are losing everything they have.

...I don't mean BT.

The software that runs that site is so old there's no longer any support for it...I've been waiting for it to die for a long time now.

Software doesn't get old and die. So long as people continue to use it, the site will remain. Despite the software older than M.G. itself, it is still one of the most useful resources for our cars on the web. It just needs to be restructured and updated... desperately. It will never happen though.

Totally concur!

Which site is being referred to here?

It's a fancy version (browser readable) of a newsgroup. Free-for-all zoo if not governed. Looks as if it's back up now.

I shouldn't have but I segue'd a thread there. <shrug>

It's the same as any other forum but limited in features because the software is so old. They just now added the ability to post images, but you still can't display them in-line. No smart tags, no html, etc.

But kinda "modern" if you cut yer teeth on newsgroups. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

yeah... however, there are Newsgroup readers out there that'll display the images for ya these days /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Yeah, I remember cutting/pasting multi-part MIME files together and bein' ASTOUNDED. Now it's in line, so-to-speak. meh.

Agent and Pan here now... but not too interested in stickin' me nose in the froups anymore.
