MG badge that says "Vale"

I bought a beautiful MG badge for the car from New Zealand. It has around the edges, the racetracks that MG has historically won on. But at the bottom in large letters it says VALE. Anyone know what that means?

Thanks, Keith in NJ USA

Re: MG badge that says "Vale"

According to the book "Vintage American Road Racing Cars 1959-1970" by Harold Pace & Mark Brinker. Vale Wright began to design a stylish new fibreglas body for his MG TC in December 1951. It was obviously inspired by the Cisitalia Nuvolari Spyder. Wright was a talented architect/ designer/ artist, and the new body turned out so well that he decided to go into business making the shell for other customers. Wright showed a prototype at the 1952 Oakland International Sports Car Show that was very well received by the press and public. Production ceased around 1958.
