MG A Project!

Hard to tell for sure from your photos, but looks like later fenders on an early 60's car. Only the late 1600MK2's came with lights in the rear body panel, however they were not mounted vertically like the ones on your car, they were horizontal and of a different type than what you have. No worries as you could weld up the holes in the rear body and cut the correct ones on the rear quarters, however I think you have bigger fish to fry than to deal with this trivial detail at this point.
 
You should also get a copy of Todd Clarke's catalogue - parts that are correct and actually fit!
