MG 2011 ....Where?!?!?!

Offline
Planning will soon be underway for the fourth all-MG Register meet...MG2011.

I'm curious as to where you, as an M.G. enthusiast, would be willing and wanting to DRIVE your M.G.???

A few of things to remember...

1) This cannot be held in everyone's back yard. We want to change locale each time yet still be within a 2 or 3 day's drive for a majority of M.G. enthusiasts in North America.

2) It should be held sometime between early/mid June and mid/late July.

3) There should be a "draw"...something of interest...for the whole family to enjoy...not just the M.G. enthuisiast.

4) A cluster of hotels should be available to keep participants in reasonably close proximity to each other to allow mingling and parking lot lie swapping.

5) The availability of a nearby airport with commercial service is a definite plus.

Keep those suggestions coming!

Thanks in advance!

I don't live in STL...

I think South Bend Indiana would be the PERFECT location.

Wherever - lets do it away from the maddening crowd!

Where's a little known attraction that has facilities but that isn't overrun with tourists? That's centrally located but not in a huge metropolis?

Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nice major mid Western city with everything you could want and a lot of "Down Home" type people. Hotels and restaurants galore. A nice central location. PJ

Janel,

What's the deal with Gatlinburg? We came through there
& there was a big car show going on.Just curious - we just
passed through - didn't spend much time there.

Doug, in G'burg just now? Man, I have no idea at all...

I'm so sorry we missed you Labor Day weekend. Where you at now, coming near STL again?

If you come through, holler! My cell is the same as my home # just switch out the 281 for a 401.

Hmmm, Tony, you plan on going?

Janel,

We're back home again (Monday evening).
Delivered #2 Sons Saturn to Chattanooga, then
on to visit #1 Son in Jacksonville,Fla.He's
serving on the Navy Destroyer "The Sullivans".
Got to tour the ship & have lunch onboard.
We're sorry we missed you.I left a couple of
messages on your answering machine. Then again,we
took our chances when we didn't know when we were
going to be in your area.

- Doug

Doug... I suspect, that was the "Shades of the Past" car show.

OH, I forgot...Colorado springs.

Is there any hint about where the 2011 show will be held?

Has a general area been picked? Say, mid west to give the people who live in the middle of the country a chance to attend. Some working people can't take off enough time from work to travel far. Get it far away from the coasts for a change.

Paul...

MG '96 was in Indy; MG 2001 in St.Paul, MN; and MG2006 in Gatlinburg...I would consider those somewhat midwest....

We'll know more in February 2008.......stay tuned to this station!

Thanks Rick, I'll certainly stay tuned.

Teaser...

We have narrowed the choices down to three locations.
