What do we call the little can that the gearstick protrudes through?
 
If it holds the rubber grommet around the shift lever it's called the cover (948, 1098 and 1275 thru '69), if it's the later model that adds support to the leather boot it's called the support (1275 '70 thru '74).
 
I call it a "hat" ... dunno why.
