It's so good to see Joni being able to sing again and she did a number of songs at Newport. Truly the voice of a generation.

It is good to see her out and about again. She is my favorite female writer and singer. I became a fan in '74 when a someone I was hanging with had a number of her records. She and first husband Chuck Mitchell were regulars at a coffee house in Coral Gables, FL called "The Flick". Chuck Mitchell was still there when I discovered the place, but she had recently left. The place was frequented by Jerry Jeff, Jimmy Buffett, Stephen Stills, David Crosby, Fred Neil. I saw Crosby on Howard Stern who (Crosby) said of Joni that when he came home and played her a new song of his she would trot out two new ones of hers that were both way better.
