Memorial Day.

I seem to remember that the poppies were originally made by WW1 vets as therapy and in some cases it was all they were able to do. So many suffered with Shell Shock called PTSD now.

My Dad worked in an essential occupation. He was in transatlantic communications cables and wireless. Several uncles were in the RAF one was in the aerial photography group and another did not come back from Burma. We never really found out what happened to him.

My father spent his war time as an artillery officer in the Pacific, mostly south. Never wanted to talk much about it though.
 
A stirring experience is to stand at the lone pine tree in downtown Adelaide (Australia)... where the seed for that tree came from a pine at Gallipoli.
