General MG Mechanic needed NY Area

Looking for someone to work on a MG Midget in the Howard Beach , NY area. We need an engine pull and flywheel ring and starter replaced.

I just replaced the ring gear and starter in my TR6.
Not familiar with the MG but you might be able to just pull the transmission from the interior then remove the flywheel and replace the ring gear.
That's how I did mine.

Sadly on the MGB and Midget you have to pull the engine to get the transmission out. It's not a hard job, just tedious.

Thanks Drew; I didn't know that. As i
said I never worked on an MG. A lot of wrenching, but not hard.

You are about an hour from Nial - an avid member of this forum (Morristown) He is currently less active but, a PM aeronca65t - or, perhaps Basil could broker a conversation.

BTW is the flywheel that bad? that a starter swap wouldn't be sufficient?
