MGB MBG valve clearance

Good evening,
I have owned my 1975 MGB for four years but only had it on the road last fall. It runs well but has noticeable valve clatter. I checked clearances, one is .015 but most are .012-.013..should I set all to .015?
It was checked cold.

If engine is stock, .015" cold setting is the norm. However, some folks tighten them up a bit to reduce clatter without causing any harm. I wouldn't go less than .012", especially on the exhaust valves. And follow the "Rule of 9" when adjusting - when #1 valve is closed, adjust #8; when #2 is closed, adjust #7; #3 closed, adjust #6, etc.

Good write-up here: > MGB Tappets <
