master power leak

When working on my 76 B I noticed that the master power reservoir was low. There was a break fluid on the frame rail. I looked at the cap on the resivor and decided for some reason to look in one of my MG books. The cap that i have is not the same as what is in the book. Could the cap with no vent cause the problem? Would the seals be leaking because of this non-standard cap. Any suggestion please let me know thanks.
 
you could try the correct cap from one of the used parts guys, Tony Barnhill or Chris Roop, but I'd be willing to bet it's time for a new master cylinder
 
Cap probably not the problem unless there's sloshing....you said 2 things one of which was "power reservoir"...there sahouldn't be any fluid getting into the power assisted system - if it is, you need a new booster...probably though your brake master cylinder is leaking either into the reservoir or underneath at the switch or at the lines!
