TR2/3/3A master cylinder res plumbing and unknown spacer

Two questions guys. Does it make any difference which master cylinder goes to which fitting on the bottom of the resovoir.
After installing the lines connecting the cylinders to the resevoir
I looked inside. One of the fittings inside has a tube over it. Explain this. spacer.jpg Second, I found this brass spacer or bushing at the bottom of my parts bin. Does anyone know what it is? It's 1 1/16" tall 1" OD with a 1/2" bore. Thanks again
 
The reservoir supplies both the brakes and clutch and as I understand the clutch is supplied from the line attached to the fitting with a tube over it. That is to prevent a clutch leak from draining the brake reservoir.
+1 on the transmission bushing. Hope you did not leave it out of the crank.

Disc brakes hold more fluid as the pads wear, so they get the larger reservoir (to make sure there is enough to cover pad wear).

Ditto on the pilot bearing. That one might actually be used, I see some marks in the bore. Maybe someone thought it was too good to throw away.

Or they may have been like me and kept it thinking that some day they might have use for a big spacer about that size. I have two of them sitting in my shop.
 
I have a new one because I couldn't work out how to get the old one out ,works fine anyway.

I saved my old one as it was just too nice to trash - have since made it part of a jack pad for a floor jack to lift my other car using the sill socket that accepts the factory jack.
