Manual Electric Fan

Ive been crawling all over the internet for a while combing through plenty of wiring diagrams to use on my fan but most require a temp sensor of some sort. . im really loooking to set up a three stage manual switch to turn the fan on low, high and off. . does anybody have any simple wiring diagrams like this to help me out?

You'll probably want some sort of resistor in the circuit to reduce the voltage and thus slow down the fan. Is that what you had in mind ?

i suppose so, im not too electrically savy which is why im looking for a simple diagram.

My advice would be to buy one of the pre-packaged controller kits and be done with it. They are simpler to install than your 2-speed setup will be; and eliminate the chances of forgetting to turn the switch on (or off). I ran a manual switch for several years, and I can't count how many times I was reminded to turn it on by the steam seeping out around the hood. For example:

That also relieves you from having to buy electronic parts without knowing much about them. You probably can't buy a 1.5 ohm, 25 watt resistor at Radio Shack (nor am I even certain that is the size you would want, it's just where I would start).

well thats a simple kit. i like it, thanks
