Mallory Unilite

Can anyone give me information about the Mallory Unilite ignition module that replaces the points in the distributor of the Rover V8 in my 1972 +8 Morgan? It was in the car when I bought it many years ago.
It seems to be functioning OK, but I'm trying to locate the source of poor idle and want to check all related components. All I can do now is check the ignition timing; my regular tool for checking dwell doesn't work and indeed may not be applicable.

Since it doesn't use points, bouncing dwell is not usually a problem, however, make sure that the shaft on the distributor is good and tight, that the drive dog is not worn, and that all the components inside the distributor are in good repair (not loose). Plus, inspect the dist cap for cracks, etc.
