Can some one tell me the outside measurment of the main bearing of the 3000 Healey (29K) I'm having machine work done and the shop wants to check the main's with no shell bearings installed to make sure they have not oblonged.
I'm unable to find the measurment? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Thanks

Haynes Workshop manual (1974 ed.) page 16, chapter1/engine Journal diameter...2.3742 to 2.3747 in (60.305 to 60.317 mm)Crankpin diameter.2.000 to 2.0005 inch (50.80 to 50.813 mm) Undersizes(journals & crankpins) -0.010 in -0.020 in with metric being -0.254mm -0.254mm -0.508mm. Hope this is what you were looking for. According to the data, these apply to the 29D, 29E, 29F, and your MkIII 29K engine. If you need more info (i.e. end float/thrust washer/regrind size etc) let me know and I'll give you more and/or burn a copy of what you need and drop it in the mail. Good luck.

Thank you RVMAN, maybe I could have phaysed it better. He is looking for the size of the opening for the main's, with the cap torqued down and no shell bearing inside. He wants to make sure the caps have not oblonged over the years.
It is that total outside measurement that I need.
By the way I found the numbers for the big end rod opening less caps, it is 2.114 to 2.1145 if you ever need them?
Thanks
