main bearing caps

Hi all
can anyone give me any clues on removing the main bearing caps? I know I have to make a puller, but the rear one doesn't have a built in thread because of the oil drain tube. Should I make a puller with the large thread or is there another way.

It's a very long time since I did mains on a Healey, but I think I just tapped them to loosen them and then just yanked them out. That's all i had to do with a TR3A engine the other day.
 
You can thread an NPT 1/2" bush into the rear main cap, and thread the inside of the bush with the same size as the holes in the other three (3) main caps.

That's a main bearing cap stud/nut being used with the puller.
 
Much the same as Randy but I just bolted in a piece of angle iron into the sump fixing hole/holes in the cap and had another hole in the web of the angle to put in my slide hammer hook, came out a treat.
