Hey Folks,

I'm shopping around for a good machine shop to do some work for me. I'm asking here for any recommendations (and/or warnings) about machine shops in the Phoenix, Arizona area. I'm specifically in Tempe, but will drive up to 200 miles for a really good shop.

Thanks!
Jody

Jody,

I have no idea of who is good in Phoenix. But there is a great guy there named Bill Close. Do you know him?

I always went for the cleanest shop... a good machinist is usually tidy and organized. Also have seen some curmudgeons wallowin' in swarf who could do amazing things. But they were an exception.

I'd check with Terry Larson and see if they will tell you who they use. We had a great guy in Tucson but he got tired and sold out. The young guy that bought him out is trying real hard but the jury is still out as far as I'm concerned.
