My first guess is always Amco.....but you will need to do some serious searching online through old pictures of archives. There were so many accessory manufacturers back in the days.

I would guess Amco as well as it has a similar design to the one for the TR4 which bolted at the hinge and license plate.

:iagree:, Scott! I had an AMCO rack just like that on a Mk3 Spitfire. I'm not 100% positive, but I think that the Spitfire and TR4 actually used the same rack.

hey guys

thanks for the thoughts on the rack, do you guys have any sites that have good old photos on them. i have spent alot of time with no good results as of yet. i will try a search using the words amco and see what i get.

cheers ed

just did a search using amco and im getting closer

p.s. the car this cam off of is headed to the crusher due to a frontend impact. i have stalled the owner till april so i go and get it before then so i can part it or save it as there seems to be no frame damage. i will post a thread when i get pics and see if its worth saving. its a 66 i think.

Here's a smallish image of a US accessory catalog page, and it shows "your" rack and the somewhat similar aluminum version.

If it's relatively rust-free and complete, I'll wager it's worth saving! Bonnets aren't THAT hard to come by (I've a couple Spitfire 4/Mk2 bonnets myself that are definitely salvageable), and those frames are not difficult to straighten if any damage to same is confined to the front part.

i dont think the frame is bent at all, the damage seems to be above the frame the radiator didnt even get damaged, ill look it over after the snow melts and see what its all about,

thanks for the link i blew it up so i could see it and that is it i also have the over rider bars front and rear as well as the knock off wheels, someone checked all the boxes off on this one.

anyways back to work on the engine bay clean up.

cheers ed
