Lug nuts Koenig Rewind Wheels

OK, sorry for such a specialzed and limited topic, but I know some of you run the Koenig Rewinds on your TR6s and TR250s, I have them on mine the acorn nuts do not want to stay tight and loosen as I drive. I am thinking I don't have the right kind of nut, I have looked on the web for specs for this on the wheel but no luck looks like a conical fit, and most all these I see are 60 degrees, I no longer have the package for the ones I fits I notice some have what is called a "bulge" the conical part goes out farther than the hex nut mine don't), is that what I need for the aluminum wheels?, any help or knowledge appreciated, I guess I am sort of a lug nut novice, all the other cars I have owned have had stock set ups and never had to worry or buy anything.

Who did you get the wheels from? They should have sold you the right nuts. I use the Gorilla anti-theft nuts on mine and they work perfectly with the Konig Rewinds.

I got mine from Discount Tire Direct. If you call and tell them what type of wheels you have and the make model and year, they can get you the proper lug nuts.

I use Spline drive lug nuts on mine and have never had an issue. There is no bulge to these nuts. They do require a a spline drive socket to put them on and take them off so it is essential to carry on in the car with you. I have two, one for the car and one for the tool box. If you go this route, also remember if you have a stock spare (I have a stock steel rim with redline) you will require the four stock lugs for the spare and the stock lug nut wrench as well.

I didn't use this brand but they are similar to these...I found something locally at a tire/performance shop.

That's what I'm using on my Panasport's on the TR8.
 
I think I have it figured out, although I have not driven the car yet to see if the new nuts stay put, I had nute which I believe were designed for a steel wheel, and I needed a bigger mating or friction surface because I was digging into the aluminum when I torqued them down.

The second pic shows the increased mating surface pretty well I think.

Maybe others can learn from my ignorance, Brosky I was too cheap to order to install kit from Discount tire, in hindsight would have been cheaper than buying two sets of lugnuts.

Ever notice how car paint looks a lot better in pics on the internet than in real life?, and close up chrome is just the opposite, looks like crap in pics even when decent in real life.
