When it comes to auto electrics, I'm a complete ditz. Does anyone know the primary resistance of an SP12 Lucas Sport coil-and does the resistance go up or down when it's on its last legs?
Cheers

-Approximately 3 OHMS

and does the resistance go up or down when it's on its last legs?

--Hard to say .However, it probably will go down if an internal short occurs in either the Primary or secondary winding.

Hi Jim
It could go either way, right up if it goes open circuit or down if short circuit. Either way I think most experience is that it will go short when it gets hot so difficult to measure until you have a running problem. Easiest way to diagnose is "replace with a known good one"
