Or at least I don't think so! Cheers everyone. I'm new to the group, but not English cars. My path to ruin began as an 18 year old (penniless) college student and a 1958 MGA, purchased for $450. Since that time there have been various MGs, Healeys, Morgans, and TRs, some with some pretty serious shortcomings. I'm looking forward to reading your posts-every day is an opportunity to learn more about sliding pillar front suspensions, positive earth, and "reassembly is the reversal of steps one through nine"! Welcome! Sounds like you already a leg up regarding our playthings. Any British cars in your stable at present?
 
Hi Mickey, thanks for the response. The current rogues gallery includes some side screen TRs, TR250, TR6, Morgan, and a MK1 MGB GT. The push right now is to finish the TR6 (go through the wiring harness, attend to some details, and get in some road-test miles; its been in storage since 1991) and prep a '57 TR3 project for a new owner. Lots to do!
 
Welcome! That's quite a work load! And must agree with you that Lucas & Sons didn't get things all that wrong. The problem lies more with the poor maintenance and repairs the cars got after they'd been a few years older and by then owned by folks who couldn't afford dealer repair rates. Most independent shops didn't have much respect for the cars, they'd "pigtail" copper wiring and wrap it with tape; "that's good enuff fer that ferrin thing" attitude. Same attitude when it came to mechanical repairs.
