"Lucas" Distributor Cap Needed

Ok I screwed up! A great guy lent me a distributor cap for my 67 3000 MkIII so I could get home. Said just send it back to me as it says "Lucas" on it and the replacements from Moss & Victoria don't. Well I put on a new cap tonight and dropped his. Gee guess what it broke! Does anyone have a cap to sell or know where I can buy a new distributor cap for a big Healey that has the "Lucas" name on it? The guy was like any LBC owner, freindly and helpful. I do not want to let him down. I want to buy him at least 2 replacements and a dinner for his generosity. Sooooooooooooooo Any distributor caps out there?

You can try: 1st Sports&Classics, 2nd Healey Surgeons and then British Car Specialists.Others may have sources I am not aware of.---Fwiw---Keoke P.S. Hey You guys, I took a look at that cap and it does not look right for a BJ8 to me it may work though. Hopefully others will check it out also---Fwiw---Keoke-?

keoke,my thoughts were that it will fit bj7-bj8,what the heck it does say lucas on it!the poor guys desperate!maybe we can find an old fog lamp stamped 'lucas'and paint it black,nah it will fit.ill give you my money back gauranty!once i got the money ill gauranty youll never get it back!!!!!!!!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Well Anthony, you know Lucas did not just make caps for the Healey cars and there are a lot of similarities out there which he put his name all over too.Besides that one is on the other side of the world.---Keoke

Same Lucas 6 pot cap was fitted to 2.6 litre Landrovers, so a Landrover dealer may have one gathering dust

The old rover 90 was a 2 wheel landrover in drag!, shared a lot with landrover, they used to be a cheap way to get landrover parts over here years ago

I paid 35.00 US new old stock in the(ratty)box on e-bay and 5.00 shipping about 4 months ago. That seems to be the price there. I just carry it in the car as part of my repair/spares kit. When you are prepared you will never need it.

Guys, thanks for all the help. Found a NOS Original with "Lucas" proudly? emblazoned on it. Came from Cape Sport over the pond. Boy when you said $$$$$$$$$ you wern't kidding 45 pounds sterling! I hope it is made of Sterling. Anyway the guy that lent me the cap deserves to have his returned (don't think he'd bee too happy with his & the big chunk knocked out of it) or at least a NOS part.
Guess it's that time again, just got 2 feet of snow yesterday, funny the bottom of the Healey somehow gets hung up on it all. Best I tuck her in for the winter.
