Hi folks. anyone have any experience replacing a Lucas 18ACR on a 1973 Stag. These make a mere 43 amps and I'm looking for a bit more HP. I have read columns on using Ford Fiesta and Saturn alternators and I am hoping to find a plug and play option.
Thanks

I don't know what the 'plugs' look like on a Stag, but this is the Fiesta 55 amp alternator on my ex' 74 TR6 which was truly 'plug and play' for that car.

I put a Fiesta alternator on my Bugeye Sprite some years ago. That's not a TR, of course, but it used a Lucas generator whose dimensions were virtually identical to those on a TR. It was an easy installation. http://sprite.nonlintec.com/alternator/

The last 18ACR replacement I bought claimed 60 amp capacity.

It would have been one of the big 3 in the US. Moss, maybe.
