Lubricating Water Pump

Doing spring maintenance,& wanted to lubricate the water pump on a'76 Tr6. I have a source that shows a threaded plug that you remove, and temporarily replace with a grease zerk, but I sure don't see anything like this on my car. Is WP lubrication only for early models, or am I missing something? Thanks for your help. Bob H.

Tom, thanks very much for your reply. That is an EXCELLENT article. I guess I'm good to go until I hear some 'chirping'.
