Spent a bit of quality time in the garage this evening and got the clutch/pressure plate combo installed on the 948 cc.
Questions:
- neither the orginal BE Sprite manual nor Haynes suggest a torque setting for the pressure plate bolts; any suggestions? I went with a 3/8" drive handle and 'snug'
- also couldn't find any recommendations for lubing the splines on the transmission input shaft where the clutch moves back and forth a wee bit; suggestions?

Thanks,
Doug
PS: and the Calgary Flames beat the Montreal Canadiens today in the NHL outdoor Heritage Hockey game, outside in the local CFL football stadium at about -12 C (about +11F) in front of some 41000 fans. Back when I played outdoor hockey, we had to shovel the rink as well.... Daughter & her family went and had a blast.

Use a light application of grease (sparingly). You don't want any grease to get flung onto the friction disc.

Thanks for the advice Gerard - much appreciated. Caught up with my brother the real auto mechanic and he advised the same, but suggested smearing the greas onto the shaft and into the splins on the disc before assembly, then sliding the disc back and forth on the shaft, and then wiping off the excess. ANd I'll have that opportunity this evening as there seems to be some sort of line up problem installing the 5 speed, so disc and pressure plate are off again
