lowest bolts on timing chain cover

The Moss supplied bolt kit doesn't seem to have two bolts long enought to bite into the two bottom holes. Has anyone else encountered this?

Are you sure you have the right bolts in the right holes. There are two short bolts used with the cover that go in upper positions so they don't stick through & interfere with other things. Check a repair manual, I seem to recall a note there to just that problem.

I just refreshed my memory with my manual. When looking at the engine the two short bolts go in the holes on the RIGHT hand side of the front cover and thread into the front mounting plate. The other bolts are longer and pass through the mounting plate and thread into the block - that's why there longer.

All the 1/4 inch bolts were short ones. I just picked up some longer ones at the hardware store and everything snugged up real nice.
