Hi,Guys,
Finally got the tapered pin out of the lower trunnion on my 65 BJ8 and am about to send the king pin assembly off to be rebushed but noticed that the king pin rebuild kit that came with my car (it was in the trunk when I bought the car in 1972) does not include the lower trunnion pin (Moss part number 65 on the diagram for the front suspension. So, I am wondering: Do I need to replace the old trunnion pin? Seems like I should as it appears to be worn. Also, how about the threaded bushes that thread onto the trunnion pins? These are parts numbered 68 and 70. The kit has the cork gaskets, etc. While we are at it, is there anything else I should be sure to replace? AND, what is a good wheel bearing grease to use? I have an old tin of wheel bearing grease, but wonder if there is a specific type that should be used? Thanks in advance for your help!!
