low voltage to right side turn signal

Can anyone offer assistance to help to determine the cause of my right side turn signals?
At first the right side turn signal didn't work at all. I replaced the flasher unit and when I put the right side turn signal on the flasher unit got so hot it burned up. Thinking there was a short somewhere in the turn signal switch I opened up the trafficator unit and made sure the wireing harness were not crossed and I did some adjustments then replaced the flasher unit again and now they work but the bulbs are so low they are barely visable and the blinking is very slow. I checked the wireing to the individual signals and everything seems to be fine, any suggestions thanks
The left side works fine, bright bulbs ahd moderate blinking speed.

Any electrical problem on a car (any car, especially old British and modern computer controlled) check the grounds.

check the grounds. :iagree:

Are you sure that the two wires (other than the ground wire) to the right rear taillamp aren't switched?
