Wedge Low Mileage 1981 TR7

I just bought a 1981 TR7 Fuel Injected convertible. It has had one respray right over the original paint. The top is shot but it had the blue boot cover in the trunk/boot. Something interesting was done to the steel wheels. They were changed so the rim face is now deeper in the rim? It is missing the trunk lock, steering wheel and someone redid the seats. The motor is all stock too. It has only 30,000 miles and records going back to the 1980ies. It has Koni shocks front and rear and the head lights work perfectly. Great price and clear title plus was driven occasionally up to a few years ago.

Great find! Now I need to find one lake that. Although they'd want 5k for it around here. I like the tinted rear windows too.

Great find, I have an original steering wheel and I'm easy. I envy your blue interior, very classy. A shame about the trunk latch, they are hard to come by. There was a NOS cup for one on E-bay a few years ago, went for around $300.00. I keep hoping that whoever bought it will make reproductions from it. I also have a set of NOS original hub caps. The original ones for the 81s look pretty good, though not as nice as the aluminum wheels for the 8. Good Luck and have fun.

I was in Team Triumph yesterday and he was parting out a nice TR7 that they could not get a title for. I'm sure he'll have your latch and more . 330 392 7176

81's have a different trunk lock. It is a push button. That's why they are hard to find. They also have different interiors, door locks, a nose badge instead of stickers, heavy hubcaps, a different steering wheel, brighter gauge pod, lower ratio fifth gear in the five speed tranny, 3.08 rear gears for the automatics, and of course all were FI and got the TR8 two outlet gas tanks. Rare birds indeed.

I now have the TR7 and threw a battery in it and had enough juice to crank over for a few seconds and that was it. The car was missing a trunk lock, push button style and Robsport came through with a used one without a working key. I got really lucky and less than 3 miles from me in Ellicott City Maryland is British Car Keys https://britishcarkeys.com/ he had the original FT keys for all of the locks from FT101 up to FT225.

I got near the end of the keys and started getting nervous....and with 7 keys left it was that key!
