Just heard this morning of the passing of Freddy Hubbard, one of THE great jazz trumpets! I had the pleasure of listening to him live on a few occasions at the Blue Note in NYC years ago!

bugimike, sad news, last night on one of our tv stations they showed pictures of all the noteables that we lost in 2008, last one was ertha kit, she lived very close to me and id run into her from time to time give treats to and play with her two little dogs, i also like freddy hubbards music, never got a chance to see him live, been trying to get to the city to see les paul at the aridium, think id better do that real soon.

Reminded me he would occasionally show up here.

We "closed" that place on the last New Year's Eve it was open, last night of '76. What a history it had. Great memories, great musicians. We may never see their like again.
