Well not quite a sad as it sounded. Just don't likely have enough time left to get around to restoring the 450SE. So gave it to my son today to probably part out or maybe sell as a parts car. The old girl deserved better but I have more interesting projects than I will ever have time to do. Rather sad watching her being towed across town though.
 
I hear you there. But it's still in your family, and you've got other cars to keep you busy.

Coincidence: here's the old M-B I drove from coast to coast last fall, on its way to New Jersey a few days ago. For the rest of its life, it'll be displayed in various M-B showrooms around the USA, as an example of how reliable an old M-B can be.
