Lost a family friend

Got one of those calls last night that we all hate to get. One of our dear friends died last night. His wife called last night to tell us that he had died unexpectedly yesterday while in the hospital for a foot injury. The last time my wife talked to her, he was doing better and expected to come home soon, so this was a huge shock!

Oi Basil. this has been a rough year for you guys. My heart goes out.

Sorry to hear that.It sounds like you've had a tough
year with losing friends.

What happened? I know a girl who lost a step brother while at the dentist. He had a bad reaction to the anestesia (sic?).

Sad news.

What ~IS~ it about September?!? This one seems particularly onerous. We've lost two family members and a great friend over this one. Keep seein' other folks lose dear ones as well. It is particularly hurtful when it happens out of the blue. Very sorry to learn of that, Basil.

I vote we just sleep thru NEXT September.

When you think about it Doc, it only seems natural, although it doesn't make it suck any less. Sorry to hear it Basil.

Sorry to hear, Basil. I, too, lost a couple of friend in the past year. You never stop thinking about them: maybe that's the positive aspect, the good memories.

Remember the good times . . . :yesnod:

Such sad news. Sorry about it.

Sorry to hear this Basil. My prayers and condolences to you and your friend's family.

Basil,

"A Foot Injury"! What the heck happened there?

Sorry to hear about your loss but always remember the "Good Times".

You just never know. My aunt knew a guy who died while golfing. His missed a shot, got mad and wacked the cart with the club. The club broke, bounced back and jabbed him in the juggular vein. He bled out on the course.

I think that was a CSI episode.

This was about 25 years ago. Who knows, shows are always ripping off real stories.

I'll have to get the details from her ( the guy's name). I wanna say it was around 1984 or so.
