It originally had a Rolls Royce style grille, but RR complained, so he ended up with the "Family Truckster" look.

The Meteor is a "detuned" Merlin -- same displacement, but putting out "only" 600 horsepower...on low octane gas. Used in the Cromwell, Crusader and Centurion tanks. I'd bet with some tweaking you could get it back into Merlin horsepower range. Might be a little bit much for a Sprite

Interestingly, they are actually on the high side price wise. I would have thought engines like this would be priced in the stratosphere. Here are brand new engines for the same money.
