Loosely contemplating an engine swap for Ms Triss

Might be a bit tight but workable.

If I had the money I would hands down buy that purely just to find something to put it in!!! Aside from a P-51, etc... The Tri-5 Chevy comes to mind

You and me both. I would clean that up and keep it in the house

Then of course, there was this car:

It originally had a Rolls Royce style grille, but RR complained, so he ended up with the "Family Truckster" look.

The Meteor is a "detuned" Merlin -- same displacement, but putting out "only" 600 horsepower...on low octane gas. Used in the Cromwell, Crusader and Centurion tanks. I'd bet with some tweaking you could get it back into Merlin horsepower range. Might be a little bit much for a Sprite

As Old Yeller builder Max Balchowsky's sign used to say, "We can replace anything with anything."

Yep.....so true!
