After some delays due defective machining on the first new steering column/worm shipped from England my rebuild of the steering box to my BJ7 is now complete. Results are good with less than 1/32" play at the tip of the steering arm. That play is a result of wear at the top of the bore for the steering arm. There is no bushing at the top, and I elected not to go to the expense for repair. I have digital pictures taken along the way if anyone is interested. I can E Mail them or if someone is inclined I can send them the pictures to post on this website.

Hey Stretch, who was your supplier over here, worth noting for future reference incase my BJ7 needs one, I will go else where !!!.

Shouldn't your heading read "Tight Steering"? You should know where your wheels are pointing now. The supplier information would be useful to to other people on the board.

I bought the steering column/worm on the web from Denis Welch Motorsport. I was referenced to this supplier by BritishCarForum after inquiring if anyone knew where a new steering worm could purchased. I also bought an oil pump from them which is working well. Oil pressure was restored to spec. My old oil pump was heavily worn and could only achieve about 25PSI. Based on their customer service and interest in high quality I would recommend them.

Yup, Dennis Welch has a good reputation, I guess that this was a one off rogue.
