Looong Day

It's been a long day, but the end was sort of worth it.

I spend Mondays minding my Dad. I sleep on his couch (not the best) and then get up around 5:30 AM Tuesday mornings to do house cleaning. He's a dear old man, but not the tidiest person.

I leave for work around mid-mornings on Tuesday (as I did today). This has been my routine for a while now. My other siblings watch him other days.

The ride back home from Dad's is about 100 miles and I was in a hurry because we have a real estate open-house at our townhouse today. I got there in time and we even got a few offers. After that, our realtor took us out to look at five different houses. One was OK...the rest were thumbs down. We are trying to keep to a budget and have looked at houses near high-tension power lines, the state psychiatric hospital and even the sewer treatment plant. But in Morris County, NJ even houses in less desirable areas can still fetch seven figures. Looking for a house has been a grind.....but we'll find our house, I'm sure.

Anyway, when that was over, I was back in the car and off to teach my afternoon/evening classes.

By 10 PM I'm finally done for the day and on my way home. It's a nice evening and I have the top down, but I am tired and really want to get home.

Within a mile from home, I am running up a dark, two lane hill on Rt 206. There's a car in front of me and we are doing the speed limit (45 mph) in the left lane. As we climb the hill, we are catching a slower car doing about 40 mph in the slow lane. I notice a car behind us doing about 65 in the (right side) slow lane catching us. As he gets closer, it's obvious he intends to pass me on the right and then cut in front of me just before I pass the slower car. I hate when people do this, so I speed up *just* enough so he can't cut me off. Instead, he has to pull in behind me.

At which point he expresses his displeasure by tailgating me while wildly swerving back and forth (I guess to annoy me).

That's when the TWO police cars behind him turned their red and blue lights on......

Like I said, a long day, but the end was sort of worth it.

I like to hear things like that - usually the
idiots get away with it because there's no cops
around.

yup.... the whole tailgating thing drives me nuts....
I bet it was sweet revenge to see those red and blue lights

That is the stuff Dreams are made of. I would have been laughing all the way home.

Such a nice end to the story.

Youbetcha! We did a four hour Interstate trip Monday and there was more of that stuff goin' on than needs mentioning. Glad to hear of one moron gettin' what he deserves.
