So I have my 2 cars, one roller, one driver, decided to sell everything and get something more family oriented. And that has fallen thru with the last 2 potential buyers. I was going to get another 69 Chevelle with AC for my lady and son to cruise in, but no luck in selling all I have.
Now what to do with 2 bugeyes, when you have a significant other who has photosensitive epilepsy (no cruising during the day) and a 10 year old. Guess go big a build a race car??

Was that your BE I saw on eBay this week ? Bids didn't make reserve?

I found I spent less time with my wife when I raced so I say no. I can, however; seek you a '68 4 speed Javelin a/c equipped car for cheap though.

No, I've been advertising them locally on craigslist. People kill me, swear up and down that they are going to buy, even offer up a deposit, then flake. On the positive side, I have a tiny 1 car garage and the bugeye fits in there nicely where as a bigger car wouldn't

Edd, I looked at your ad on craigslist, and I think that you are offering a lot of BE for the $10,000. Unfortunately, we have a smaller and smaller market for our cars, but the prices have been going up. If I can make a suggestion, I would try to market your cars to a greater geographic audience, such as ebay or Hemmings. Also try some of the forums, like this one or AHExperience.
Good luck!

I totally agree with Scott. I tried listing my 59 BE on Craigs list and got slow responses and a lot of flakes. When I put it on E-Bay world wide the bidding was very strong. Although I wound up pulling it from E-Bay because of an offer I couldn't refuse, I believe I could have sold it on E-Bay without to much trouble. if you are serious about selling E-Bay is the way to go.

One more thought. As an example there is a Bugeye for sale on the Bugeye Parts website that has gotten no action. I think it is because people that look at that site and the BCF etc. already have an LBC. Most people don't learn about the BCF and other sites like the BCF until after they buy and LBC. If that BE was put on E-bay I bet it would sell rather quicklyIMO.

If I were selling a rarer car right now I would be trying Bring a Trailer. Huge readership and while their commission ain't cheap ($600 IIRC) it is well within the "dicker ranger" on a 10k car.

In addition, your ad said the carpet and panels were missing. A car will bring top dollar and is easier to sell if it is complete and has few issues. I would suggest you get the BE in top shape and I'm sure you will be able to find a buyer.
Good luck.....if you do sell, sorry to lose you to the other side!

Build that race! There's nothing like a father and son car project to bring everyone in the family closer together. We need to keep our youth interested in the marque or they'll go the way of the dinosaurs.

Here's three generations having a blast at last years Rolex Monteray Historic Festival.

Well maybe I'll try ebay, just to test the waters and see how it goes. Guess the frustration of not finding a body/paint guy that isn't charging an obscene amount of money has been part of the discouragement. But getting a classic with a top and air conditioning is more appropriate for the family unit as well. I was going to put this in the garage...
