Looks like someone got a deal. What do you think?

Interesting - looks like no one got a deal The seller just re-listed it again. Guess the deal fell through.

Isn't the front end more a TR3 from *before* 1959?

Tom

I didn't realize it was re-listed.
Yes, looks like a small mouth... could have been swapped.
Still looks like a deal to me.

That is not far from here, wish I had the extra money right now, oh and the extra space.

Wrong color badge on the front.

The wood dash and gauge setup certainly is different - can't say I don't like it!

The dash plaque looks like it possibly came from the VTR National held in Dallas in 1988 (my first VTR event ever attended). If so, it is a pretty good looking older restoration.

The dash other than being interesting doesn't do it for me either, but that is a pretty easy thing to change, says the guy who won't be doing the changing!

I'm surprised there is no reserve. Can an owner pull out if he/she feels the car isn't going for enough?

On Ebay "motor vehicle" auctions, either the buyer or the seller can reneg. I've had buyers back out on me when they determined shipping fees. I backed out of a TR3 deal after traveling 1000 miles to pick it up... misrepresented.

Howdy Tom,

Yes; Its a "Small Mouth" nose. My `57 had the same configuration. The "TR2s" look quite similar but the grille itself is recessed back towards the Radiator.

It surely is not correct but many folks prefer the look of the earlier Small Mouths vs. Large Mouth Grilles / Noses; More Nostaglic I guess.

See Y`All Later,

Russ

PS: Tom, I`m trying to locate your photobucket where you may show more pics of your TR but ???

Basically, the dash is straight out of a TR4. Wasn't too much imagination involved with that.

Before you go after this thing, check out the seller's ebay feedback. Not real impressive and that may be why the first sale fell apart.

At $17k it would be a good deal even with a few needs. But that's one problem with ebay. A winning bid does not necessarily a deal make...
