Looks like Joe is clearing his stuff

A Cortina MKIII!A Mazda R100!The Mazda's are worth
a lot of money - $400's a steal,even for a parts car.

he has a ton of stuff - more than 100 cars and then parts to spare

Ooooh, A Viva HB!
I know I had one of those back in the day, but I can't remember anything about it other than it was yellow.

Remember the radio ads?

I'd love to have a couple of those old Japanese cars...

I had one of those Cortinas, my wife's first car was a Viva HB and I know a niceexample of the Opel Rekord like the one shown, here in Cyprus. I also know that model of Zodiac; one that's not for sale and one that is, that I nearly bought!

I had a MKIII Cortina.I bought it in Canada.Sold it
to a friend in Washington.

A nice collection of stuff for sale... How much does Joe have left for sale JP? I know he's been slowly selling stuff off, and I've never seen these photos of non-British stuff (and I have seen his photo album of his car collection a number of years ago, say ~ 2002)

That R100... I have a story about one, early 1990's I was working the evening shift at a gas station here in Calgary and this strange looking car pulled up (yup, an R100), it was a full-serve gas station so I was able to chat with the driver and his friend... They told me that they had just purchased it that night from a yard where it had been sitting for quite some time, there was lots of sap all over the car to prove that and it did look a little rough... And then they drove off into the night, and that was the only R100 I've ever seen, they are quite a rare car... And thinking back now, I even wonder how they legally drove home with it, it was in almost no shape to drive very far from what I could see, perhaps using the licence plate from another car? Hoping to not get caught?

Joe has over 100 cars though a fair number are really only suitable for parts and all are slowly returning to the earth. I'm actually happy he's trying to move them as they really need to go one way or another (scrap or restore) he races an MGB and at this point in his life just wants to do that.

Here are some others

and these (scroll to the Commer vans)

lots of fun to wander around

Oh, and Ms Triss rides on front springs and an A-arm from Joe's yard.

That website again... I love it! I've got a few photos I should submit to them

And I do remember when Joe was going all over Ontario purchasing old cars that he could find, at one point it was a huge collection! But I've never seen his collection personally, just his photos of it, I gather you have?

yes, I have been there a couple of times, my brother lives about 40 minutes away. it's a time capsule that's for sure - though as I said before they are getting rough

Sherlock,

I bought a '72 R100 (only sold in California that year).
I paid $150 for it,bought a rebuilt 10A from Mazda (I shoud-
have bought a 12A,or 13B.
I remember buying a parts manual for it,& I was able to
order almost any part thru the dealer.I put the RX7 mag wheels
on it,which lowered it down,& filled out the wheelwells. The
stock tires were something like 195/90/13's.
I ended up with about $2500 into it,& was very happy to
sell it for $1000.I should have kept it.

Speaking of unusual Japanese stuff, my brother (who owned a series of old beaters back in art college, ~ late-1980's) briefly owned a Mazda Rotary Pickup... The most distinct feature I remember was the externally mounted battery... As I recall it was rather unreliable for him and he didn't keep it for very long, unfortunately I have almost no photos of the unusual cars he owned back then, I was just a youngster with that being the last thought on my mind...

For some strange reason I always wanted a Bedford Van. Maybe it was an old matchbox car I had ever since I was little.
Lots of neat stuff there. I love the oddball things.

The Rotary pickup was cool - the first one That I saw
was driving down the highway (101).I noticed the fender-
flares,the large tires.
On the tailgate they put "Rotary Power",I always wanted
to change that to "Rotary Mower"!.

There are quite a few of them here in Canada that pop up from time to time, remember they were sold here from 1958 to 1963... And some of them can be in quite good condition sometimes... And they are old enough to be a private import into the United States with no problem, except for paperwork issues and such...
