Good moringin!! I tripped up on this site while looking for some insight about how to deal with a tonneau cover that seems to be too small. I saw a forum with some interesting and kindly insights, and I thought I'd follow up with my experiences so far. So I've registered and am p[resently going through these introductory formalities. I'll get back to that forum later.
Little bit about me: As the second word of this message might indicate, I grew up in a time when boys played with cars and left typing to girls. So please forgive my excessive typos. I'm not a good proof reader, either. I'm a practicing engineer, so I like to take things apart and put them back together. Generally, I try reconstruct to manufacturers' quality or standards, but I realize there are cases where the 21st century is better.
I bought a TR-6 seven years ago from a couple who were down-sizing and soon would no longer have a three-bay garage. They also had lost interest in the car, and it came with a long list of shortcomings even though it would start and run. So, my wife & I have enjoyed it as a summer morning run-about while I consumed winter evenings and weekends knocking items off the check list. It looks a lot better and, for the most part, runs smoothly - I did get stranded one afternoon when the rotor decided to quit and I hadn't yet assembled an adequate "first-aid" kit of tools and parts in the boot.
Sorry to bore you, but these words just came out. In closing, let me thank those who have assembled and maintain this site. It seems to set a pretty high bar
