Have some old road wheels and they are in bad shape. Hard to drive faster than 45 mph. If anyone has a set of good wire, minilite or stock road wheels I would consider buying them.
I'm tired of my car driving poorly and finaly after getting it in shape need to address this problem.

Any help or consideration in a sale would be greatly appreciated.

Larry, check with Paul Oglesby, British Car Parts, Madisonville, Kentucky. He has been selling Brit Bits for about 25 years and might be able to help you out.

270-825-2994, usually there from 0900 to 1500 hours.

Good Luck, Tinkerman

Called Paul and he had wheels. He convinced me to buy new. Said he wouldn't recommend used wheels.
Not sure what to do next. Like wire but hate to spend that much money, don't want used road wheels, Minisport may be the way to go...

Old wire wheels can be repaired and tuned, British wire and wheel, in North Carolina can do this for you. They are very knowledgable and don't mind answering your questions.
I've tuned one or two but I now have to tune all four of the wheels that I am going to use as road wheels. Find them on the net. They may evan advertise in one or both of the National club mags.

Go on the net and Google wire wheels, you will find all kinds of interesting stuff. It may take some time but it's a problem that can be solved without dropping big bucks for new wheels. Also part of the equation will be how good a wrench you are.

You might try this site: https://WWW.team.net/sol/tech/truwire.html
it gives all you need to know about truing wire wheels. If you can't find it PM me and I will copy the article and send it to you.

Good luck Larry, Tinkerman

Larry - another BCF member just put a set of five original steel wheels up for sale. Here's his BCF ad:

"I feel your pain." I was looking for good (non-bent, non-wobbly) original steel wheels myself, but finally gave up. Decided on the Minilite style wheels from Moss. Like you, I didn't want the expense and hassle of wires (tho' I love how they look).

Hi Larry;

I`m the guy who posted the set of Orig rims on the website:

They are in Great shape: I won`t part them out but I may sell them without the tires? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif
