TR6 Looking for pics of your green tr6

trying to settle on a color (stock color) for my tr6.

based on pics i have seen on the web (i.e. google images) i've narrowed it down to emerald green, british racing green (triumph stock color), laurel green, and mallard blue which has a tinge of green (depending on level of color blindness!!)

the scary thing is, how much these colors seem to differ in hue from one car to another. emerald green in particular seems to vary car to car with seemingly different levels of blue in the mix. some of this difference can be attributed to quality of the photos, but i believe much of it is due to differences in how the paint is manufactured (33 yrs after tr6 production stopped).

so i thought i would approach the group here. was hoping anyone with "recent" paint (say the past 5 yrs or so) of a stock color green on their tr6 could fwd me a picture (or post a link). all the better if you can provide the paint manufacturer and code as well.

thanks! -steve

Thought it was a prerequisite to have yellow 6's in that part of the country

Same car, different light. Repainted by PO. Originally Emerald Green, but judging from the original paint in the engine compartment, the repaint is a little darker and a little less metallic.

hah, i think i know who you're referring to there! ya gotta go a little bit further south before the obligatory yellow kicks in.

I like that emerald green, i think it would contrast nicely with the new black interior i've got (would also contrast nicely with a black tail panel).

I REALLY like this jagauar british racing green, it's the deep hue that i was hoping for in the laurel green. Is it a smooth consistent coloring? or does it have that metallic 'sparkling' effect when close up?

this is another example of the Jag BRG. no metallic effect in my paint. it is not new, though. close to 20 yrs old.

5 simple rules:

1) never yell at her!
2) caress her!
3) listen to all her problems!
4) always keep her well fed!
5) dont hit her!

If you look in the Triumph section of Members' Pictures, my mallard TR6 is on page 6. It's a very pretty color that many enthusiasts aren't aware of. But as you said, the color varies a lot from car to car.

geeez i'm such an idiot, that Member's Pictures is a great resource. some of them even state the manufacturer color. thanks for pointing me here.

hey btw.. i've seen those pics of your mallard blue tr6 elsewhere on the web as well!! its a beautiful look. i am considering this color, wondering how it will look with black interior

here you go...new paint 2005/2006 BRG...BRG was the car's original color

A friend of mine had an original mallard/black car. It looked good, but I always liked it with tan. It's just a preference thing. From the factory, they came with New Tan, but I used Light Tan.
