Looking for Healey 100 cylinder head

Does anybody have a rebuildable cylinder head for a Healey 100 or recommend a place that can fix one that's cracked? My Dad doesn't want to buy a new aluminum one.

A good (GOOD) welder should be able to TIG the head, using a high nickel content rod.

Most important aspect of the job is to properly (slowly) preheat the casting, repair it fairly quickly, and then post heat, to gradually cool it.

Using an oven with ramp/soak controls is a plus, but an operator can turn the dials too.

Ideally, they'll have a data recorder attached (via thermocpouple) to log the rise in temp over time, the repair, and post heat-cooling process.

Let me guess, cracked between cylinders 2 & 3 exhaust seats?
 
I think Dad said between 3 and 4. The machine shop he took it too said it must have been an old race head. The valves were larger than what they were suppose to be so somebody opened up the combustion chamber so the valves would fit. This thinned out a wall that cracked. Dad was saying something about the combustion chamber being opened up so much that the head gasket lip was actually in the combustion chamber.

He has another engine but he said it was cracked too but not sure where. He was going to have it checked also. It might be fixed if he can find a place to fix it.
 
I had my 100 head repaired a couplle years back, I no longer have the car, but the repair seemed to work fine for the several months after the work was done that I owned the car.

As Randy stated, and as I undertand it it is somewhat of a specialezed skill, the local guy that did my work was the only one in the area that would tackle it, and had a very good reputation. I know there is science to it, but as described to me, welding/repairing cast iron is almost like an art.

Ask around at the local machine and welding shops someone should have a read on whether there is a local guy who can do it.
