Cutlass said:Picked mine up from the local Moss dealer today. They are different from original, indeed. Green plastic lens is lighter in color. The chrome cap on the lens does not curl over the edge of the lens, as does the orignial. The cut-out arrow on the chrome cap is smaller than original. Made in China. From ten feet, few could pick out the difference, but to those who know, a close look reveals the truth.
The reason you can't buy just a replacement lens, apparently, is that it is not made in the original thread size.
If anyone knows where better reproductions are available, please let us know.
Cutlass said:Thanks, Patrick. Any chance you would part with a couple of those old lenses?
First I got to go through a million boxes to find them and I'm hoping to trade a couple of them for a factory hardtop for my car. (yeah, I know I'm dreaming, but who knows??)

I agree with you and if manufactures made parts exactly like the originals, most people would be willing to pay a little more for them. Kinda like those thinner remanufactured bumpers and bumper guards.Cutlass said:Makes me wonder just how much extra per piece it would have cost to make accruate reproductions. They had to make them green, why not a darker green? How much extra work to make the arrow cut-out the right size? Just doesn't make much sense to me.
