Looking for a used wooden steering wheel(something reasonable and in good shape) for my 73'B.
Really dont want to spend the money for the new ones in Victoria British, or Moss Motors.

Newkie, I got a wooden Moto-Lita wheel hanging on a hook here in Japan.
In good shape but possibly a bit far away...?

Newkie, I have one on my B. If you're not in a hurry, I'm going to pull it and put the original back on after I clean it up and spiff it up some.

Im not in a hurry, because the season is almost over. I am redoing my interior this winter.
If you can email me with a picture or two, and whatever you might be asking Id appreciate it. Or just post pic in here.
Thanks for the fast response.

It will be a winter project here too, after fishing season and I can get dahubby to pull it for me. It needs cleaned up some too. Remind me!! I want to go back to the original so this will just be laying around. Will be cheapycheapy.

JB,

I have an original '73 wheel (open graduated slots) if you are interested...really nice shape! I bought it for the hub, so there will be no hub, just the wheel...make me an offer /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Bruce, I have the original steering wheel as well as the wood one that's currently on Emma. Thanks though!

Ahh, mine isn't nearly as nice as Carl's!

Well Jaybird, I've shown mine...now show us yours!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I agree, show us yours!!
Also, while I have you reading this post, if I get a wheel, I'll need the wood shift knob too. Anyone trying to move one of those too.

Newkie

Newkie, sorry, no shift knob.
Sent you an e-mail regarding the wheel.

Re: Looking for a wooden steering wheel for my 73'

For some ideas, here are the two wood wheels I have...

This one is a Moto-Lita 14" like Carl's.

This one is a Peronsal 15" (upside-down) with a Nardi horn push.

Jaybird, thanks for the offer on the wooden steering wheel you said you were removing and offering to me for sale. I ended up getting the one from Jedi. Here again thanks for letting me know about yours.
I am also looking for a mahogony shift knob, if anyone has one they are looking to move.(73MGB) Not quite sure what years interchange.
Anyways, thanks Jaybird and Jedi...
Much appreciated.

Man, I love that Moto-Lita wheel. Dumb question, do you notice any difference with it being 14 inches rather than 15 inches?

Newkie,
wheel ( in attachment )is boxed up and on its way.
May it steer you through many a turn! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Re: Looking for a wooden steering wheel for my 73'

The 15" wheel is easier to turn, but the 14" wheel makes for faster response on twisty roads.

Re: Looking for a wooden steering wheel for my 73'

Jedi, got the wheel today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gifThanks a million. It came a long way to make my B a very happy car.
Cant say enough about it, Thanks.
