TR6 Looking for a TR6

Me: Hi. My name is Bill, and I have an addiction. I'm addicted to LBCs.

Crowd: Hi Bill.

All kidding aside, my girlfriend turns 30 in May, and I'd love nothing more than to give her a TR6. So, my search has begun! I'd prefer a pre-1974 car (no insult intended to those who have 'em and like 'em). Pre-1973 would be even better. Dark brown, orange, blue would be best. Not looking for show cars or crazy prices!

Thanks guys as always!

B.

So you really dont like her much huh?......LOL!

Ha! I do indeed! And she looks *fantastic* behind the wheel of an LBC.

pictures of the girlfriend please.

Hello, Bill. I'm right down the road from you in C'ville.

Relatively speaking, TR-6s are everywhere in the usual places (eBay; craigslist; collector car trader; Hemmings; VTR website, Washington Post classified, etc.).

In fact, if you don't watch out, one might bump into you! The reason I say this is I'm looking for a nicely sorted Midget or Sprite and they're pretty scarce, at least compared to TR-6s. But I seem to see a TR-6 for sale just about everywhere I look.

Be patient, buy the best example you can afford. I'll bet you'll find one in the DC/Balto metro area.

Good luck, give us photos when you find one.

Well, since you asked, here she is behind the wheel of the MGC (sorry for the MG photo on this side of the Forum!):

And while we're on the topic of how wonderful she is, here's a picture of a set of bowls she's making for me -- one for every car in the collection. Note how the Triumph bowl is in Triumph Racing Green, with a silver stripe to match my TR-250.

I'm a lucky man!

Bill indeed you are a lucky man.So much easier to enjoy a hobby when you're both into it.
My mrs. has always been involved in my hobbies as well. Cars ,motorcycles and vintage stuff.
Even likes my old tractors......

MGC's are OK. If it has a 6 cylinder in it, it's OK by me.

She does add a nice touch of class to the car also.

Just another bonus of a spouse/significant other who enjoys our hobby.
