Forum Members:

I'm in Week 4 of trying to get my recently repainted 1960 BE back on the road. The latest set-back involves the license plate light. While we were installing new wires to the lamp mechanism we broke it.

Now I'm looking for a replacement. I just need the internal mechanism that holds the light bulb. I've got the rest of the outer housing (glass lens, chrome housing, etc.).

If anyone has one available, please email me at mxp01961@hotmail.com.

Thanks in advance,

Mike Pennell

Did you actually snap the metal piece or did the rivets come out? On mine, one of the rivets came out. I just put in a new one and voila.

Don't have one, but. It might be time to clean up the garage. Its amazing what you might find. I marvel at the difference when I'm midway into a project.

I have one of those in my box of stuff too good to throw away. Replaced the whole unit with a NOS one when Miss Agatha was in work.

If you still need it send me your address.

jlaird237@cox.net I will get it in the mail. No cost of course. My way of repaying all the favors I have received from folks here when I was looking.

Thanks for your assistance. I've emailed you with the information.

KC Bugeye: We try to keep that garage clean, but we always seem to lose the one or two things we really need. That's what happened in this case: I took one part with me to the hardware store to get some things (we also lost the nuts/bolts that keep it all together) including glue to try to glue it back together. It was the next day when I went to put everything back together when I discovered the piece was missing. I also noticed my son had swept the garage clean the night before.

My only advice to everyone is to make sure to clearly label and store everything that comes off the car. You can get everything you want except what you need.
